Meetings

Meetings

Anyone interested in astronomy is welcome attend our meetings at no charge. Meetings are held the second Tuesday of every month, except for July and August. They start at 7:00 PM at the David Thompson Astronomical Observatory learning centre at Fort William Historical Park.

Typical meetings consist of a review of local and national centre business, followed by a discussion of recent news items.  We also have a feature presentation each month that can be any topic at all from space exploration to basic astronomy, to hardware reviews.  The final item in most meetings is a presentation that is called Naked Eye to Deep Sky, where attention is drawn to events and items/constellations that are visible in the sky for the next particular month.
