Activities
The Thunder Bay Center is active throughout the year some of our activities include
- Public Observing Nights – we set up our telescopes in a public place (usually Hillcrest Park) and invite the public to come and have a look through them, as well as encourage people to bring their own telescopes if they have concerns about setting them up.
- Public and Private Presentations – we provide the content based on your requests, you provide the facility. This usually consists of a presentation followed by an observing session outside. We have done numerous presentations with Cubs, Scouts, Guides, school groups, school classes, church groups and the like. Services are normally free, as we love our hobby and like to share it! Summertime sees us presenting in the provincial park system on many weekends.
- Trade Shows – lately we have been in a few trade shows around Thunder Bay to promote our group and our love for the night sky. We answer many different types of questions from many people.
